Episode 01: Resetting

Where is that place that comes to mind when you just need to get away from it all and escape from reality. It could be any place. It could be on a private beach somewhere or on a tropical island. Maybe it’s deep in the woods where there isn't a soul around. Maybe you have a favorite camping spot on a lake that you like to go to every year as a tradition. Maybe it’s sitting next to a cactus having margaritas in the Arizona desert? Or maybe you haven't found that happy place yet. I didn't find my place until we visited Moab Utah. Centered between 2 National Parks, Canyonlands and Arches and a Utah state park (Dead Horse Point). The city itself is beautiful and has red rock all around. My family has always enjoyed hiking and hike any chance we get. In Moab, there is trails for everyone. For families like mine or for the expert climbers that seek the thrill. Also if you are not into hiking through the desert, there is many other things to do. The Colorado River which runs through the town offers plenty of water sports. There’s a dinosaur exhibit or you could even rent an off road vehicle and do some back country travels. For me though, I love the hiking. The views were amazing and the trails are not busy. You will find yourself out there, and your will find yourself out there alone at times. It seemed like while I was out on the trails my body and mind reset and suddenly every little thing that may have been bothering me was no longer a problem. I instantly felt like I was a better person. Maybe it was the 112° temperatures and the fears surrounding me at the time like the sudden 2000+ feet drop-offs or the rattlesnakes lurking in the sagebrush. Whatever it may have been, Moab hit my red reset button.
